Good bye from Mr rimmer

A fond farewell from Mr Rimmer!

I will be leaving at the end of the academic year to take on a role at Wisbech Grammar School. This was a difficult decision to take, especially with the progress the academy has made since I started at Southery in January 2018.

I would just to thank you all for your support since I took on the role of Principal, especially over the last 12 months and I am immensely proud of what has been achieved despite the pandemic.

The staff and children have been incredibly supportive from my very first day walking into the academy and, with their continued energy and enthusiasm, I know that the school will continue to go from strength to strength.

I will take many memories away with me from my time at Southery academy e.g. school trips, year 6 sleepovers, FOSA events, sport events, various dress up days and the school finally being recognised as a ‘Good’ in 2019. I feel privileged to have been part of this fantastic school’s development.

I know that everyone involved with the academy will support the new principal, Elaine Huntington,  and that the school will continue to go from strength to strength.

Many thanks to all and best wishes,

Barney Rimmer
