FArewell to staff

Farewell and welcome to Southery staff!

Mrs Harradine-Hughes will be leaving the academy at the end of the academic year to take on a new role at Littleport Community Primary. Here she will be the SENDCO, as well as part of the Senior leadership team and this is a really exciting opportunity for her. We wish her well for the future!

Mr Cawley will also be leaving at the end of the academic year to pursue new opportunities. We wish him well for the future also!

I would like to thank both Mrs Harradine-Hughes and Mr Cawley for all they have done at the academy since they started back in September 2017! We have had an eventful few years with various events and trips, as well as Ofsted of which they were both an important part of securing our first ever ‘Good’!

Just as importantly, I am able to let all parents and carers know that we have been able to successfully recruit 2 new members of staff.

Mr Bothamley (otherwise known as Mr B) will be staying with the academy from September to teach Lapwings and I am really pleased with the impact he has had since joining us. I know that he is really looking forward to continuing to teach the children here and the exciting challenges ahead!

We also have Miss Downing joining us in September to teach Kingfishers. She is currently working in a similar sized primary school in Kendal and understands the uniqueness of working in a small village primary. Miss Downing has worked in Norfolk in a previous role as a Psychologist and she brings with her a wealth of knowledge that will help to support the children at Southery academy.

Both Mr B and Miss Downing have met and spent some time with the children and all are looking forward to September!
